RESOLUTE of the Hamburg-American Line, which left New York City on January 6, 1930, crossing the Atlantic and visiting Madeira, Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean, including Athens, Greece.

Vessel out of London, England, mastered by James M. Buddington on voyage from 21 Sept.-21 Dec. 1855; Captain Buddington, commander of bark George Henry on her arctic voyage 1855-1856, found the HMS Resolute (abandoned by a crew in search of the Franklin expedition); Buddington freed the icebound vessel and returned to New London, Conn.; ship was later sent back to Queen Victoria as a gift; dismantled ca. 1878.
